Northern Mountain Sports Northern Mountain Sports began in the early 1990's to take people rappelling, rock climbing, and caving around Peterborough, Ontario. At that time rock climbing was the latest trend with the university crowd and rappelling was almost unheard of. Our most popular treks have always been the rappelling tours lasting several hours, which let participants become confident enough to really have a blast. Many people overcame fears, many returned, and most had never done anything like it before! We're proud to have put smiles on so many faces, and to have introduced some to a new hobby! Front Page News After a daring reporter from the Peterborough Examiner decided to "go jump off a cliff" as he put it, Northern Mountain Sports became front page news. NMS once published the Peterborough Summer Adventure Guide, which described the various treks being offered by Northern Mountain Sports. We also sold advertising space in the guide to other "soft-adventure" businesses like jet-ski rentals, ultralight rides, hot air balloon rides, and bicycle, canoe, and kayak retailers. Now you too can jump off a cliff and live to tell about it! Put on your harness, clip onto the rope, and step over the edge! Slide down the rope as fast or slow as you want. Lean way out and swing around, and take pictures of the amazing scenery! We'll also take high quality digital pictures of you rappelling, for free! |

Ok, so get out here and let's go! Look at these pictures, it's great fun. Can you imagine? I can - I've been doing it for years, and it's still fun! Grab some friends and let's hit the rocks for an afternoon of rappelling, it's awesome!
